the photographer calls for kai, and yifan steps back to allow the younger model space on the couch. he’s seen kim jongin’s spreads in every nationwide magazine on an almost daily basis since entering the business. this is his first time seeing him in person. yifan watches as kai leans back exposing a tan canvas of soft skin with sharp clavicles that frame a small dip at the center of his throat. when he lifts his head and brings his hand to his eyes he pauses, as if remembering he’s wearing makeup that took hours to apply and instead shakes his head, his mouth opening wide in a yawn. yifan thinks he looks much like a large cat.

when the director snaps his fingers signaling the beginning of his first shots, kai’s eyes snap to attention and yifan swallows thickly at the raw hunger he sees in them.
